A Goal Achieved...yet in Progress
The goal of Eagle Festival is to raise money for athletics. The current (and long-standing) situation is this: all sports are coached by volunteers, students must pay to participate, and the school provides no support from the general fund. The Fairview Area Schools' Athletic Department is completely self-funded with all monies coming from participation fees, fundraisers, gate fees, and Eagle Festival.
The money Eagle Festival has provided has been used to update training supplies and equipment for track, volleyball and basketball. Eagle Festival funds have been used to purchase new uniforms for all high school teams over the last few years. The most appreciated benefit beginning with the 2013-2014 school year was transportation. Because of Eagle Festival, all winter and spring sports were able to have busing for away contests, and at this time, between Eagle Festival funds and volunteer drivers, all full teams can be taken to contests on buses.
